NC DWI Limited Privilege For Driving to Church? NC Limited Driving Privileges to Allow Travel For Worship Purposes
For NC limited driving privileges issued on or after October 1st, 2015, the NC General Assembly has amended general statute 20-179.3 to add religious worship as a legitimate purpose for limited driving privileges.
The allowance for driving for religious worship will be restricted similarly to driving for work and educations purposes, and your limited driving privilege should be prepared accordingly. Non standard hours, which are typically when the average person would wish to attend religious services (Sunday a.m,, Wednesday p.m., etc.), must be approved by the court specifically.
